This was a nice Chinese restaurant located in a strip mall. I stopped in on Monday afternoon, just before evening meal time. No other patrons were in the restaurant. During my stay, a couple carry-out orders were filled. My waitress was nice and greeted me at the door, showing me to a nice table in a booth. A menu was presented and my drink order was placed. Now, I'm no expert on the differences between Thai, Cantonese, Szechuan, etc. I saw pages of offerings, and to be quite honest, I was more hungry than adventurous. I recognized a few selections from previous Chinese restaurant visits and honed in on them - especially the spicier offerings. My drink arrived and it was time to order. I selected Szechuan Chicken as my meal, with the included egg drop soup, along with an egg roll. I found the table spices included sesame sauce, sweet and sour sauce, and common mustard (again, I'm no expert - if my description is incorrect - let me know) The soup and egg roll arrived shortly thereafter, with a bowl of chips and a dinner roll. The soup was delicious. The egg roll was spiced with the squeeze bottle of sweet-n-sour sauce. My main course was presented after the soup was eaten, the timing was perfect. My Szechuan Chicken came with a bowl of rice, and an empty plate to combine the two. After a few bites, the teary eyes and runny nose started. Yep this stuff is that good! Not too hot, mind you, but sufficiently spicy to awaken the olfactory part of my body. Honestly, I was not able to eat the main course in its entirety, so a take-out container was provided. A complimentary cookie and fortune cookie were provided with the meal check. I don't remember the price off hand, but there was ample food for the amount charged. I recommend.

I have eaten at may hong at least 50 times over the last few years. I have tried nearly everything they offer and never Been disappointed. The staff are very nice and attentive but the real jem of this place is the owner Sara kwok. She is always cheerful and a joy and o deal with.

So this is an American Chinese restaurant- not anything Authentic and not run by the Chinese. So- I knew what I was getting into. Being from Boston and San Francisco, I have never heard of Almond Chicken. This is only an American Chinese Michigan thing. You can not find this outside of Michigan. So being new to the area, I had to try it. WTH? Almond chicken is literally Friend Chicken with Gravy. I thought gravy was the metaphor to a thicker almond like sauce. No- this was actually gravy- like what you would get from KFC. We had 2 pieces and we couldn't do it. We also had the Shrimp and Pea Pods. The shrimp is frozen and the sauce felt so heavy. The service is also very slow- but friendly. There is only 1.5 person that works the front. So- if they have more than 2 tables or a large party- you will have to wait for your food and even to order.

My wife, her friend and I went to May Hong after searching for Chinese food in the 16 Mile and Garfield area. I was impressed with both the food and the service. The menu has more vegetarian options(including the Indonesian dish gado gado and a vegetarian imitation chicken made from flour) than many Chinese restaurants in the area. In addition, our waitress offered to make the normal meat dishes (like Gai Kow) with tofu instead. The tofu is very lightly fried and succulent, a nice change from the extremes of dried out or pure mush. The restaurant also serves brown rice, a rarity in Chinese restaurants. Our service was prompt and friendly. When my wife's friend found that she didn't really like the tofu version of Gai Kow and ordered another meal of the chicken version, the old meal was boxed and the new one brought out in a couple of minutes. Our waitress seemed dialed in to all of our needs (noticing that I had not ordered brown rice with my tofu dish when my wife's friend had and asking if I wanted it, for example). May Hong is a good example of American Chinese restaurant making an effort with better than average variety, quality and service.

My first time here and it was great, food was good, service was great. Pricing seemed reasonable. Menu has lots of options and if you can't find anything on it, maybe Chinese is not your fair. The place looks new and well kept. Sign out front says formerly Ping Hong......so not sure if its new owners or what.

It's extremely hard to find Chinese food that is satisfying and nicely priced. May Hong is the place for both of those. Love the sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls are wonderful and the prices are extremely fairly priced. Friendly service too!

A restaurant has one responsibility to it customers above all others... DO NOT SERVE THEM RAW CHICKEN!!! I should have released a tirade of expletives, but after waiting about an hour for our food, I didn't have the energy. Let's start from the beginning - my wife and I were out shopping, we got hungry and I suggested trying MAY HONG Chinese restaurant because we could walk there from the market. We got there and though it was a small place, only 3 booth were filled with customers. We waited a few minutes to be seated, as there was no staff to greet or seat us. Finally we get seated and wait a while to order. I am not even finished ordering and our waitress starts walking away! A few more tables started to get filled as we waited for our food. People started entering for carry-outs. I thought to myself "this will probably be worth the wait, because it's starting to get busy."... Boy, was I wrong. After waiting and waiting, finally my Bourbon chicken comes. I get about 4 bites in and realize that I have a piece of chicken on me fork that is RAW.... Not just, "oh this might be raw"... without a doubt RAW. My wife hadn't even started eating. We immediately lost our appetites. As we are waiting for someone to finally come around to tell about the problem (probably another 5 minutes) a guy comes in because his wife found a rubber band in her rice (poor dude had carry out too). I finally see the waitress and tell her what's wrong, only to have her nod her head, and take my plate away. She didn't even apologize! I gave her $7 for the egg rolls and soup that we did eat, and left feeling disgusted. Please, if you value your health, avoid this place. Needless to say we will not be back. Unbelievable.
